Behind it: 12,000 square feet of wood panelling, copper trim, a replica of Fenway's Green Monster and a hidden candy cupboard.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>This is BlueHouse Boston, JetBlue's second airport lounge \u2014 and the more interesting thing about it is not the sweets. It is that an airline built on the promise of treating every passenger the same has decided the ground experience is now worth building rooms for.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>JetBlue also used the opening to rewrite who gets in. From 27 August, every customer flying on a Mint or Mint Flex fare walks in free, domestic or international. You enter through something modelled on a classic Boston home, and the rooms are named the way rooms in houses are named rather than the way zones in airport lounges are named.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>The Neighborhood Bar is the social centre, under a wood-slatted ceiling painted \"Nantucket Blue\" with copper finishes and a light fitting shaped after Boston's harbour beacon. The Dugout is a game room stuffed with local sports memorabilia. Widen the door, then add a cheaper ticket that does not fit through it.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n<div style=\"background:#f8f9fa;border-left:4px solid #5C91FF;padding:20px 22px;margin:18px 0 24px;border-radius:0 8px 8px 0;font-size:16px;line-height:1.7;display:flex;gap:20px;align-items:flex-start\"><div><em>&ldquo;We&rsquo;re excited to extend that experience to more customers, while being thoughtful about access so our lounges remain comfortable, welcoming spaces where customers can truly relax and enjoy their time before a flight.&rdquo;<\/em><div style=\"margin-top:10px;font-size:14px;color:#555\"><strong>Marty St. George<\/strong> &mdash; president, JetBlue<\/div><\/div><\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Guests are charged either way: $39 per guest for Mint customers, and for Mosaic 4 members and Premier cardmembers one guest is free with $39 for each additional. Everyone else can buy a walk-up pass at the desk if there is room.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<h2 style=\"padding-top:22px\">Warum Boston, und warum gerade jetzt?<\/h2>\r\n\r\n<p>Boston is JetBlue's second-largest focus city and the airline is not being subtle about defending it. This summer it is running more than 133 daily departures from Logan to 68 destinations, 25 of them international, including nine daily nonstops to Europe, with Barcelona and Milan added to the map.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>That is a network that now carries a lot of premium traffic, and premium traffic expects somewhere to sit. The lounge is one piece of JetForward, which JetBlue describes as delivering more premium, customer-centric experiences &mdash; a pivot away from pure low-cost toward selling comfort at a price.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n<div style=\"max-width:550px;margin:0 auto 28px\"><iframe class=\"skip-lazy\" data-no-lazy=\"1\" loading=\"eager\" src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/embed\/Tweet.html?id=2086124538916434367&theme=light\" style=\"width:100%;height:400px;border:none;border-radius:12px;overflow:hidden\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The early evidence says it is working. The JFK BlueHouse was voted the No. 1 \"Best Airport Lounge\" in Newsweek's Readers' Choice Awards 2026 \u2014 a consumer-voted award, which for a first attempt by an airline with no lounge heritage is a genuinely strange result.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>Two lounges is not a network, and JetBlue is still a long way behind the three US majors on ground product. But the airline that once made a virtue of giving everyone the same seat has now built two rooms specifically for the people who pay more.
