Footage released by Anduril on 31 August shows an H-60M Black Hawk rocket-launching an Altius-700 from an external pylon, the drone streaking away across the Mojave before a formation of them hunts down a target on its own.<\/p>\r\n<p>The Black Hawk is not a gunship. That job belongs to the AH-64 Apache. In other words, the helicopter crew did not fly the drone onto the target. They released it, and the machines sorted out the rest between themselves.<\/p>\r\n<p>The Mojave was not chosen for the scenery. The extreme desert heat let the Army validate the system's environmental resilience alongside its networking. It followed three days of flight testing in June at Fort A.P. The appeal is obvious. A non-kinetic effect can scout far ahead of the formation while the crewed helicopter stays well outside the threat envelope.
