When it lands, Croatia will have a scheduled year-round air link to mainland China for the first time.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>The service runs three times a week &mdash; Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays &mdash; and it does two jobs at once. It reconnects Air China with Bucharest, a city the airline last served until March 1994, and it opens Zagreb to a market that has been sending Croatia a steadily rising number of visitors.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>More than 330,000 Chinese tourists visited Croatia in 2025. Neither is Bucharest. Strung together on one widebody rotation, they become viable &mdash; the aircraft fills up on the long sector from Beijing and sheds and gains passengers in Romania.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>Air China is also pursuing fifth freedom traffic rights on the Bucharest&ndash;Zagreb leg. If regulators approve, the airline could sell tickets purely between the Romanian and Croatian capitals &mdash; a city pair with no nonstop service at present.
