Within hours, Iranian state media broadcast images of wreckage scattered across a desert site, claiming the kill for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps' air defence network. Tehran initially identified the aircraft as an <a href=\"https:\/\/migflug.com\/aircraft\/f-35-lightning-ii\">F-35<\/a> \u2014 but debris photographs circulating online clearly show the distinctive conformal fuel tanks and twin-engine layout of the F-15E.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">US Central Command has not released an official statement identifying the aircraft type, but multiple US officials speaking to American media have confirmed the loss of an F-15E.
