Every extra tonne of fuel makes the aircraft heavier, and a heavier aircraft burns more fuel to carry it. Airlines normally use tankering when fuel is much cheaper at the departure airport. Here they are using it for a different reason, to keep the hub running.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It also comes in a year when jet fuel has already been scarce and expensive across Europe.
