One of Jetstar&rsquo;s Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners had been stuck in Melbourne since late July, needing new thrust-reverser components for its big GEnx engines. Those parts were in Prestwick. Rather than route them through the usual patchwork of connecting freighters, the fastest way to get a wide-body flying again was to charter a dedicated 777F and send it straight there.<\/p>\r\n<p>It is an expensive way to move a box of parts &mdash; but a grounded Dreamliner costs an airline far more every day it sits.
