Now this aircraft is also winning export markets. Deliveries to foreign partners, who fully understand the advantages of this aircraft, are already underway. New modifications of the fighter are becoming even more effective and dangerous. In Egypt we are presenting the export variant with completely new weaponry, shown for the first time.&rdquo;<\/em><div style=\"margin-top:10px;font-size:14px;color:#555\"><strong>Rostec<\/strong> &mdash; statement announcing the Su-57E appearance at the El Alamein International Airshow, 3 September 2026<\/div><\/div><\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Note what is not there: no weapon designation, no named customer, no delivery numbers. Algerian state television showed footage in February 2025, and in November 2025 United Aircraft Corporation director general Vadim Badeha said two Su-57Es had been delivered to an unnamed foreign partner. Neither Moscow nor Algiers has ever jointly confirmed it.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>Rosoboronexport has separately said it signed further Su-57E export agreements at the DSA-2026 exhibition in Kuala Lumpur in April, again without naming countries or numbers.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>This opacity is not accidental. Buying Russian combat aircraft now carries the risk of U.S. sanctions under CAATSA, and the quieter a customer keeps it, the longer the awkward conversation can be deferred.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<h2 style=\"padding-top:22px\">Egypt has walked away before<\/h2>\r\n\r\n<p>Which makes Egypt an interesting place to hold this particular demonstration. Cairo agreed to buy around 30 Su-35s, then halted the deal in 2021 and 2022 over exactly those sanctions concerns \u2014 after Russia had already built roughly a dozen aircraft. Some of those jets were later reported to have been redirected towards Iran.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>Egypt has since gone in a different direction. It flies Rafales, has just asked Dassault for 24 more, and hosted Chinese J-16s and a Chinese Y-20 tanker during the Eagles of Civilization exercise. The Egyptian market is genuinely open \u2014 and Russia is no longer the obvious winner in it.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n<div style=\"position:relative;padding-bottom:56.25%;height:0;overflow:hidden;margin:24px 0\"><iframe class=\"skip-lazy\" data-no-lazy=\"1\" loading=\"eager\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/WIl1cufYYF0\" style=\"position:absolute;top:0;left:0;width:100%;height:100%;border:0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>A full Su-57 aerobatic display, filmed at Aero India 2025 \u2014 the kind of routine Rostec is promising at El Alamein.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<h2 style=\"padding-top:22px\">What might the weapon be?<\/h2>\r\n\r\n<p>Nobody outside Rostec knows, and we are not going to guess a designation. What can be said is what the Su-57E\u2019s export marketing has emphasised so far: internal carriage of air-to-air and air-to-surface weapons, compatibility with a broad Russian munitions catalogue, and a steady stream of incremental upgrades aimed at customers who want a fifth-generation aircraft without an American export licence attached.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>Something genuinely new on the pylons \u2014 or, more interestingly, in the weapons bays \u2014 would be a real signal.
