Saudi Arabia has not confirmed that any aircraft was hit, damaged or lost, and no independent source has verified the claim. What exists so far is a statement and a short, dark video. It said the aircraft was hit over Saada, the Houthi heartland on the Saudi border, and that it \"may crash\". As EurAsian Times pointed out, it was filmed in near-total darkness and does not show an aircraft clearly enough to identify one. That is the whole of the public evidence so far.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The careful wording matters. \"Struck directly\" and \"at risk of crashing\" is not the same claim as \"shot down\". In September the Houthis seized ground on the Red Sea coast, and in early October Saudi Arabia and the Yemeni government launched a counteroffensive. Saudi jets have been striking Houthi positions daily, while the Houthis have fired missiles and drones at targets inside Saudi Arabia, including Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport, where a Saudia A320 was burned out on the ground.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ta'if itself has been in the firing line.
