A camouflaged Russian <a href=\"https:\/\/migflug.com\/aircraft\/mi-28-havoc\/\">Mi-28NM<\/a> fills more of the frame with every second as the drone closes from behind and slightly above, lined up on the engine bay. Then the video cuts out.<\/p>\r\n<p>That clip, released on 16 October 2026 by Ukraine's 115th Separate Mechanized Brigade, is the second Ukrainian claim in three days of an interceptor drone hitting one of Russia's newest attack helicopters. Both strikes reportedly happened over Russia's Belgorod region, on the Russian side of the border.<\/p>\r\n<p>Everything here is a Ukrainian claim. The brigade has not given the dates of the strikes, only when it published the footage. Titled \"minus an enemy Mi-28NM\", it credited the pilots of the Prybultsi anti-aircraft missile battalion with hitting a modernised Russian attack helicopter in mid-air.<\/p>\r\n<p>Two days later the same unit posted a second video with the caption \"We can, and we repeat!\" The post thanked the drone maker Vinnytsia Bees and the Come Back Alive foundation for supplying the weapon.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<div style=\"max-width:550px;margin:0 auto 28px\"><iframe class=\"skip-lazy\" data-no-lazy=\"1\" loading=\"eager\" src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/embed\/Tweet.html?id=2111365902700617749&theme=light\" style=\"width:100%;height:400px;border:none;overflow:hidden\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\r\n\r\n<p>OSINTtechnical, a widely followed open-source analysis account, shared the footage on 17 October and summed up the month so far: the 115th Brigade has hit several Russian Mi-28 Havocs with FPV drones over Belgorod Oblast since the start of October.<\/p>\r\n<p>The brigade's wording on the first strike went further than the video. Helicopters suit the job because they can match a slow drone's speed and keep the gun on it.<\/p>\r\n<p>Ukraine has been working towards this moment for two years.
