Delta Dart, rychl\u00fd, ostr\u00fd a v vzdu\u0161n\u00e9m souboji nemilosrdn\u00fd, byl postaven tak, aby zachytil sov\u011btsk\u00e9 bombard\u00e9ry d\u0159\u00edve, ne\u017e by mohly ohrozit americk\u00e1 m\u011bsta. F-106A, kter\u00fd pilotoval \u2013 s\u00e9riov\u00e9 \u010d\u00edslo 58-0787 \u2013 byl jedn\u00edm z nejmodern\u011bj\u0161\u00edch st\u00edha\u010dek v arzen\u00e1lu letectva, st\u00edhac\u00edm letounem s rychlost\u00ed Mach 2+, ur\u010den\u00fdm pro stoup\u00e1n\u00ed, zat\u00e1\u010den\u00ed a boj ve v\u00fd\u0161k\u00e1ch, kde v\u011bt\u0161ina pilot\u016f sotva d\u00fdchala.<\/p>\n\n<p>Cvi\u010den\u00ed bylo agresivn\u00ed: strm\u00e9 stoup\u00e1n\u00ed, st\u0159emhlav\u00e9 zat\u00e1\u010dky a man\u00e9vry s vysok\u00fdm p\u0159et\u00ed\u017een\u00edm, jejich\u017e c\u00edlem bylo prov\u011b\u0159it pilota i stroj na hranici limitu. Nejednalo se o opatrn\u00e9 cvi\u010dn\u00e9 lety \u2013 \u0161lo o skute\u010dn\u00e9 l\u00e9t\u00e1n\u00ed, takov\u00e9 l\u00e9t\u00e1n\u00ed, kter\u00e9 vy\u017eadovalo absolutn\u00ed soust\u0159ed\u011bn\u00ed a perfektn\u00ed techniku.<\/p>\n\n<p>Pak se n\u011bco pokazilo. P\u0159esn\u00e1 p\u0159\u00ed\u010dina se historii ztratila, ale d\u016fle\u017eit\u00fd je v\u00fdsledek: F-106 se dostal do ploch\u00e9 v\u00fdvrtky.<\/p>\n\n<h2 style=\"padding-top:22px\">Ploch\u00e1 rotace: Nejv\u011bt\u0161\u00ed v\u00fdzva<\/h2>\n\n<p>Ploch\u00e1 v\u00fdvrtka je no\u010dn\u00ed m\u016frou ka\u017ed\u00e9ho st\u00edhac\u00edho pilota. Na rozd\u00edl od konven\u010dn\u00ed v\u00fdvrtky, kdy se nos letadla sn\u00ed\u017e\u00ed a letadlo m\u00e1 ur\u010dit\u00e9 proud\u011bn\u00ed vzduchu vp\u0159ed, je ploch\u00e1 v\u00fdvrtka odchylka od \u0159\u00edzen\u00e9ho letu, kdy se letadlo kym\u00e1c\u00ed t\u00e9m\u011b\u0159 vodorovn\u011b a ot\u00e1\u010d\u00ed se kolem sv\u00e9 svisl\u00e9 osy s minim\u00e1ln\u00edm pohybem vp\u0159ed. Postupy pro vypro\u0161t\u011bn\u00ed nefunguj\u00ed. K\u0159\u00eddla ztratila vztlak. \u0158\u00eddic\u00ed plochy se zakously do mrtv\u00e9ho vzduchu. A ka\u017edou vte\u0159inu gravitace t\u00e1hne letadlo n\u00ed\u017ee.<\/p>\n\n<p>Foust zkusil v\u0161echno. Pou\u017eil zp\u011btn\u00e9 ovl\u00e1dac\u00ed prvky, bojoval s p\u00e1kou \u0159\u00edzen\u00ed, spaloval palivo v zoufal\u00e9m stoup\u00e1n\u00ed, aby nabral rychlost a znovu z\u00edskal kontrolu nad letadlem. Nic nefungovalo. F-106 z\u016fstal uv\u011bzn\u011bn v ploch\u00e9 v\u00fdvrtce, klesal, to\u010dil se a byl neovladateln\u00fd.<\/p>\n\n<p>Ne\u017e se rozhodl katapultovat, byl p\u0159ibli\u017en\u011b ve v\u00fd\u0161ce 4 500 metr\u016f \u2013 dostate\u010dn\u011b n\u00edzko, aby na druhou \u0161anci nem\u011bl \u010das. Katapultoval se.<\/p>\n\n<h2 style=\"padding-top:22px\">Nemo\u017en\u00e9 zotaven\u00ed<\/h2>\n\n<p>A pr\u00e1v\u011b zde se p\u0159\u00edb\u011bh st\u00e1v\u00e1 mimo\u0159\u00e1dn\u00fdm.<\/p>\n\n<p>Kdy\u017e se Foust katapultoval, masivn\u00ed zrychlen\u00ed katapultovac\u00edho sedadla ho s obrovskou silou vymr\u0161tilo nahoru a dozadu. Jeho t\u011blo, n\u00e1hle odd\u011blen\u00e9 od letadla, zp\u016fsobilo posun v t\u011b\u017ei\u0161ti. V tom zlomku vte\u0159iny se u F-106 \u2013 st\u00e1le se kym\u00e1cej\u00edc\u00edho ve sv\u00e9 smrt\u00edc\u00ed ploch\u00e9 v\u00fdvrtce \u2013 n\u00e1hle zm\u011bnilo rozlo\u017een\u00ed hmotnosti. Bez pilota a katapultovac\u00edho sedadla se z\u00e1sadn\u011b zm\u011bnila rovnov\u00e1ha letadla.<\/p>\n\n<p>Nikdo to nepl\u00e1noval. \u017d\u00e1dn\u00fd in\u017een\u00fdr to nenavrhl. Fyzika je ale k o\u010dek\u00e1v\u00e1n\u00edm lhostejn\u00e1: zm\u011bna t\u011b\u017ei\u0161t\u011b sta\u010dila tak akor\u00e1t k tomu, aby se zm\u011bnila dynamika rotace. F-106 se, neuv\u011b\u0159iteln\u011b, za\u010dal zotavovat.<\/p>\n\n<p>Nos se postupn\u011b sni\u017eoval do konven\u010dn\u011bj\u0161\u00ed polohy. K\u0159\u00eddla za\u010dala op\u011bt generovat vztlak. Rotace se zpomalila. A jak v\u00fd\u0161ka d\u00e1le klesala, Delta Dart p\u0159e\u0161el z ploch\u00e9 v\u00fdvrtky do kles\u00e1n\u00ed. Letadlo dopadlo na sn\u00edh, t\u0159en\u00ed ho zpomalilo a nakonec se zastavilo s b\u011b\u017e\u00edc\u00edmi motory. Nedalek\u00fd farm\u00e1\u0159 usly\u0161el hluk a letadlo na\u0161el. Po\u0161kozen\u00ed bylo minim\u00e1ln\u00ed. Letadlo bylo neporu\u0161en\u00e9, opraviteln\u00e9 a co je neuv\u011b\u0159iteln\u011bj\u0161\u00ed \u2013 st\u00e1le provozuschopn\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n<p>Kapit\u00e1n Gary Foust bezpe\u010dn\u011b p\u0159ist\u00e1l na pad\u00e1ku o n\u011bkolik kilometr\u016f d\u00e1l, byl pozd\u011bji naprosto \u0161okov\u00e1n, kdy\u017e se dozv\u011bd\u011bl, \u017ee jeho letadlo dok\u00e1zalo n\u011bco, co by \u017e\u00e1dn\u00e9 letadlo nem\u011blo b\u00fdt schopn\u00e9: samo p\u0159ist\u00e1lo.<\/p>\n\n<h2 style=\"padding-top:22px\">Po nemo\u017en\u00e9m<\/h2>\n\n<p>Letectvo letoun F-106A vyzvedlo, posoudilo po\u0161kozen\u00ed a opravilo.
