The 2026 tally counts just over <strong>52,200 in-service military aircraft<\/strong> spread across 161 nations \u2014 and this category is the most lopsided of all.<\/p>\r\n<p>The United States operates more than 13,000 military aircraft: more than the next three countries combined. Russia is a distant second with around 4,237, China third with 3,529, then India and South Korea.
