More than \u00a38 billion over four years goes to the Global Combat Air Programme \u2014 the sixth-generation stealth fighter Britain is building with Japan and Italy, and which we <a href=\"https:\/\/migflug.com\/jetflights\/gcap-uk-8-6-billion-sixth-gen-fighter-programme-2026\/\">covered when the \u00a38.6 billion was pledged<\/a>. On top of that, the UK will buy 12 <a href=\"https:\/\/migflug.com\/aircraft\/f-35-lightning-ii\">F-35A<\/a> jets and join NATO\u2019s nuclear mission, pour more than \u00a35 billion into drones and autonomy, and spend \u00a3790 million hardening the homeland against air, drone and missile attack \u2014 including directed-energy weapons and a new Integrated Air, Space and Missile Defence Operations Centre.<\/p>\r\n<p>There is money for munitions too: \u00a311 billion to refill stockpiles emptied by the aid flowing to Ukraine, with at least six new explosives factories promised by 2030. Of the \u00a315 billion in genuinely new money, the Defence Secretary himself acknowledged that most is not for shiny hardware at all \u2014 it is day-to-day spending to keep existing ships and aircraft available and crews trained.
