Mapa: Wikimedia Commons<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2 style=\"padding-top:22px\">Transportistas, drones y equipos de abordaje<\/h2><p>Para el 16 de julio, los ataques hab\u00edan durado cinco noches consecutivas, con aviones de combate, drones y buques de guerra atacando objetivos de vigilancia costera, defensa a\u00e9rea, log\u00edstica y objetivos mar\u00edtimos. El bloqueo en s\u00ed es un esfuerzo de gran envergadura: m\u00e1s de 10.000 marineros, infantes de marina y aviadores, dos portaaviones \u2014entre ellos el USS George H.W. Bush con sus m\u00e1s de 60 aeronaves\u2014 y m\u00e1s de 20 buques de guerra.<\/p><p>No todo son misiles. Infantes de Marina estadounidenses de la 11.\u00aa Unidad Expedicionaria de Marines abordaron el buque cisterna M\/T Wen Yao en el Golfo de Om\u00e1n para verificar el cumplimiento de las normas. Durante el bloqueo anterior, de abril a junio, el CENTCOM afirma haber desviado a m\u00e1s de 140 embarcaciones que cumpl\u00edan con las normas, inmovilizado nueve que se negaron y permitido el paso a m\u00e1s de 50 barcos que transportaban ayuda humanitaria.<\/p><h2 style=\"padding-top:22px\">Lo que est\u00e1 en juego m\u00e1s all\u00e1 del estrecho<\/h2><p>Aproximadamente una quinta parte del petr\u00f3leo transportado por mar a nivel mundial \u2014unos 20 millones de barriles diarios\u2014 transita por este estrecho de 48 kil\u00f3metros entre Ir\u00e1n y Om\u00e1n. Pr\u00e1cticamente no existe una ruta alternativa a gran escala. Por eso, un solo petrolero averiado y una noche de huelgas tienen repercusiones mucho m\u00e1s all\u00e1 del Golfo, afectando a los mercados de seguros, los precios del petr\u00f3leo y los c\u00e1lculos de todos los gobiernos que dependen del crudo que fluye hacia el oeste y el este desde el Golfo P\u00e9rsico.<\/p><p>Por ahora, el patr\u00f3n se mantiene: advertencias, luego ataques con misiles Hellfire; una oleada de ataques, y otra la noche siguiente. Estados Unidos apuesta a que una fuerza abrumadora y visible mantendr\u00e1 el estrecho abierto.
