On Sunday, at least one general-aviation pilot over New Jersey got exactly that view.<\/p><p>NORAD announced that its fighter jets intercepted two light aircraft that strayed into restricted airspace over Bedminster, New Jersey, on 9 August 2026. The reason for the no-fly zone was parked a few miles away on the fairways: President Donald Trump was spending the weekend at his golf club, which was hosting the four-day LIV Golf New York tournament.<\/p><p>The jets escorted the intruders out. Nobody was hurt. That is a remarkable number for a single protected pocket of sky, and it points to the same culprit every time: pilots who took off without checking whether the airspace ahead of them had been closed.<\/p><p>Temporary Flight Restrictions, or TFRs, snap into place around the president wherever he goes. They are published as Notices to Air Missions and they are not subtle. In the clip an F-16 comes across the frame and settles behind what looks like a small Cessna, the fighter throttled back toward the near-stall speeds needed to shepherd a puttering light aircraft.<\/p><p>Intercepted pilots are directed to switch immediately to the emergency frequencies, 121.5 or 243.0 MHz, and turn away from the protected zone.
