Brimstone 3 is the current generation of a missile designed for exactly the problem Reaper crews spent years wrestling with: hitting a moving vehicle without destroying the street it is driving down.

Neither is an American weapon, which is the point. The MoD has not commented on that.

But Initial Operating Capability still has not been declared. In a written parliamentary answer in January, defence minister Luke Pollard confirmed the type had yet to reach those milestones.

The Reaper it replaces flew for eighteen years and logged more than 173,000 hours before XIII Squadron put the last one away. The Protector RG Mk1 is a highly advanced remotely piloted aircraft used by the RAF. With long endurance and precision strike capability, it supports missions such as surveillance, search and rescue, and armed operations alongside NATO and US forces. Protector is the first certified, remotely piloted air system and is tactically interoperable with NATO and US assets. Based on the General Atomics – Aeronautical Systems Inc (GA-ASI) MQ-9B SkyGuardian, the UK system will be designated Protector RG Mk1. In June 2026 in a historic first, an RAF Protector took off from RAF Waddington and flew to RAF Akrotiri transiting over Europe. Previously the Reaper aircraft could only fly in limited air space following certain routes. However, the Protector aircraft can fly in normal aviation air space like any other aircraft, meaning it was able to be flown from the UK to Cyprus rather than been dismantled and transported in the back of a Cargo Plane."},{"@type":"BreadcrumbList","@id":"https://migflug.com/jetflights/raf-protector-rg1-paveway-brimstone-weapons-qualification-2026/#breadcrumb
@type":"ListItem
{"@type":"ListItem
Britain’s New Drone Finally Gets Its Weapons"}]},{"@type":"WebSite","@id":"https://migflug.com/jetflights/#website
{"@id":"https://migflug.com/jetflights/#organization
@type":"SearchAction
@type":"EntryPoint
https://migflug.com/jetflights/?s={search_term_string}
@type":"PropertyValueSpecification
{"@type":"Organization","@id":"https://migflug.com/jetflights/#organization
{"@type":"ImageObject
en-US","@id":"https://migflug.com/jetflights/#/schema/logo/image/
https://ml5psubhxdln.i.optimole.com/cb:0e0_.b970/w:897/h:278/q:mauto/ig:avif/https://migflug.com/jetflights/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2026/06/MIGFLUG_LOGO-no-background.png
https://ml5psubhxdln.i.optimole.com/cb:0e0_.b970/w:897/h:278/q:mauto/ig:avif/https://migflug.com/jetflights/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2026/06/MIGFLUG_LOGO-no-background.png
{"@id":"https://migflug.com/jetflights/#/schema/logo/image/
https://www.facebook.com/MiGFlug/","https://x.com/migflug","https://www.instagram.com/migflug/","https://www.youtube.com/user/MiGFlug","https://www.linkedin.com/company/migflug.com/","https://www.pinterest.ch/migflug/"]},{"@type":"Person","@id":"https://migflug.com/jetflights/#/schema/person/da89e4a5834c9a932ee20751ed75569c
Max Grünwald
@type":"ImageObject
en-US","@id":"https://secure.gravatar.com/avatar/4a7af37924a5c24d0712babd0e5eafec09d37b3a41831dd4c4ee30f54ebfc1a7?s=96&d=mm&r=g
https://secure.gravatar.com/avatar/4a7af37924a5c24d0712babd0e5eafec09d37b3a41831dd4c4ee30f54ebfc1a7?s=96&d=mm&r=g
https://secure.gravatar.com/avatar/4a7af37924a5c24d0712babd0e5eafec09d37b3a41831dd4c4ee30f54ebfc1a7?s=96&d=mm&r=g
Max Grünwald
Max Grünwald cura gli approfondimenti tecnici di MiGFlug, che spaziano dai motori all'avionica e ai sistemi d'arma, verificando ogni dato due volte.
["GET
