Owner Mike O\u2019Rourke chose the scheme because his wife Chantal is French \u2014 a personal tribute woven into a historical one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"padding-top:22px\">Seven Years to Fly Again<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">O\u2019Rourke brought the aircraft to New Zealand in 2019 as a Flugwerk reproduction. Getting it to flying condition required years of work by Jay McIntyre and his team at JEM Aviation. The restoration went far beyond cosmetics \u2014 numerous upgrades transformed it from an average warbird to an outstanding flying machine.
