No. After a full ground briefing you can take the controls of the L-39 yourself with the pilot guiding you, staying in voice contact throughout.

Most people are. You just need to be in reasonable general health – no serious back, heart or spinal problems, blood pressure under control, and no pregnancy. Glasses or contacts are fine. You’ll sign a short medical declaration, and if in doubt check with your doctor first.

A little extra weight is rarely a problem – the real constraint is the leg strap, and we’ve flown guests up to about 300 lbs (136 kg). For height, from roughly 6 ft 5 (1.98 m) or with a long upper body, just tell us your seated height so we can check the fit.

As a guide the minimum age is 14, with a parent’s consent for under-18s, and there’s no upper limit as long as you’re in reasonable general health. Local rules can vary, so please confirm with us when you book.

The flight is whichever package you choose above. Allow about 2.5 to 3 hours on site overall – briefing, gearing up, the flight, and time afterwards for photos and a chat with the pilot.

You’ll meet your pilot and get to know the L-39, suit up, and agree how gentle or full-on you’d like it. After a safety and cockpit briefing you head out for aerobatics, hands-on flying and Alpine sightseeing, then return to your flight certificate.

Your booking time is your arrival time – when you meet the pilot – not the take-off time, so there’s no need to come earlier. Just allow a margin for traffic so you arrive relaxed.

This Alpine operation runs mainly through the warmer months, roughly spring to autumn, when mountain weather is most settled. If conditions ever ground your flight, we reschedule it at no cost.

We reschedule free of charge, for any reason. The earlier we know the better; in a last-minute emergency on flight day, ring the pilot directly so the aircraft is not prepared in vain. It rarely comes to that, though.
