Flying a fighter jet had long been on my bucket list, and the L-39c experience exceeded all expectations. My pilot was friendly, put me at ease, and thoroughly prepped me on G-forces, motion sickness, and safety.
Once airborne, I got to take the controls for some turns and rolls before the pilot unleashed intense aerobatic maneuvers that nearly had me blacking out! The real thrill came with the Top Gun-style canyon flight, which was nothing short of heart-pounding.
Despite the intensity, I always felt safe. This experience was beyond thrilling and definitely not for the faint of heart!
The Supersonic Flight is probably the most exhilarating experience on Earth. We rocketed up at nearly twice the speed of sound – reaching 19.8km. The MiG-29 ascends at 330 meters per second! At that height, the stunning view of the Earth, encased in a blueish atmosphere, is indescribable. The sky above was pitch black, and the Earth’s curvature was crystal clear. Winter flights allow the Fulcrum to climb higher in cold air. Despite the freezing cold, it was absolutely worth it! On the descent, I took control, and we hit 7.5g. Insane!! The entire experience was beyond thrilling.
